The OSE was awarded a new project for providing the Belgian National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (NIHDI) with expertise and analysis on EU policies with a potential impact on national health care systems. This project is the continuation of a longstanding collaboration between the OSE and the NIHDI in this field.
The project includes :
- Expert advice on EU policies with a potential impact on health care systems in general and the Belgian health care system in particular.
- The publication of a quarterly electronic newsletter on recent EU developments with a potential impact on national health care systems.
- The organisation of a conference early 2016 on EU Law and Policy and Health Systems.
- The organisation of a workshop with international experts in preparation of a Handbook on EU Health Law and Policy, in cooperation with Sheffield School of Law.

- Prior authorisation practices for treatment abroad in Belgium
- Scope for EU level cooperation in the field of price fixing and reimbursement of highly innovative medicines and medical devices
