The OSE was contracted by the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI) to conduct research, which resulted in a book on “Social Policy in the European Union: State of Play 2015”. The 16th edition of this edited volume (published in September) features external scholars (Richard Hyman, Vivien Schmidt and Jonathan Zeitlin) as well as OSE and ETUI contributers.
With a look into such varied fields of enquiry as the EU prospects after the 2014 parliamentary elections, the (role for social partners in) the EU economic and social governance, the Investment Plan for the EU, the EU and education policy, EU constraints on member states’ health care policy and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), the contributors to this research project present a thorough analysis of the main social developments that took place in Europe during the year 2014. The book ends with a chronology of the key events in European social policy. The entire volume can be downloaded for free.
