The OSE was awarded a three-year project to provide the Belgian National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (NIHDI-INAMI-RIZIV) and the Belgian health authorities with expertise and analysis on EU policies with a potential impact on national healthcare systems. This project is the continuation of a longstanding collaboration between the OSE and the NIHDI in this field.

The project includes:

Allan Larsson, Maria Joao Rodrigues, Esther Lynch, Josef Wöss and Ruth Paserman discussed how the proposed Pillar of Social Rights will be transposed into concrete actions at the EU level, and how Member States can be convinced into accepting more guidance on achieving convergence towards higher social standards. Bart Vanhercke moderated the debate.

Poland, just like many other European countries, is facing the important challenge of modernising its welfare system in a challenging economic context and at a time of ongoing fiscal consolidation. To mark the 17th edition of this flagship publication, the European Social Observatory and the European Trade Union Institute hold a presentation-debate hosted by the Workers' Group - Group II of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
